2022-05-27-Cooke School End of Year Picnic

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

2022-05-27 What a wonderful day! So many smiling faces, so many hugs and so, so much love in the air! The Annual Cooke School "End of the Year Family Picnic" was a huge success. Although the crowd was down just a little because of some early morning threatening weather, the sun broke through, the D.J.'s music filled the air and the dancing was underway! Speaking of filling the air, let's not forget about that great smell of hamburgers and hot dogs prepared and served by the best "Chefs" in the world! Congratulations to our Event Chair John Vella for putting together such a great team of volunteers. His volunteer crew was made up of many Sir and Lady Nobles, several long time Manresa friends, and many of my Brother Knights from St. Edith Council #13645. Everyone involved should be so happy with their efforts.

I have found that all events usually have a "moment" that tends to sum up the event. I would like to share with you the "moment" I feel summed up this event. I spoke to one of our newest Lady Nobles, Colleen Morrison, and I asked her how she liked her first event and if she had any thoughts? She commented that she loved it but she did have to admit that she teared up a couple of times. I told her that it was a natural response. I simply asked her if she served a hot dog or hamburger to anyone that was crying? She said no, everyone was smiling! I told her, "that is why we do what we do!" I have attached a few photos to remind you of the joy we find having the opportunity to have personal interaction with those we choose to serve! God Bless all of you for being part of this "Ministry of Service!"
